In this introductory podcast to Authority, we think about Social Authority as a magnetic form of power: it’s the power to lead others through consent, through partnership, through bonds of trust and fairness. You can have all the formal power in the world, and yet lack Social Authority. Or you can have high Social Authority, and yet hold no formal position of power at all.
